Chardonnay, Pinot Noir: First created in the 1982, Billecart-Salmon Grande Cuvée comes from the finest grand cru sites. The Champagne spends 10 years in the house's cellar before release onto the market. An extremely complex sparkling wine, Billecart-Salmon 1996 Grande Cuvée should certainly be included in any Champagne-lover's cellar. Richard Juhlin 96 pts

Pinot Noir: Burghound 90-92 pts "An airy, ripe and pure nose combines subtle spice hints with expressive aromas or red and blue pinot fruit plus violet notes that precede the detailed and precise yet full-bodied flavors that are textured and seductive as they ooze dry extract and lend balance to the otherwise chiseled and palate staining finish. This too should age very well over the medium plus term."

Chardonnay: Allen Meadows, Burghound 91 points "The most elegant and refined wine in the range with upper register white flower aromas that merge into transparent, minerally, detailed and intense middle weight flavors that are impressively pure and vibrant with ample underlying tension and cut. Excellent juice here."

Pinot Noir: ST, International Wine Cellar 91-93 pts "Good red-ruby. Plum, currant, blackberry, violet, spices, smoked meat and rose petal; this one shows all the Beze food groups. Densely packed and dry, with terrific breed and enticing floral lift. Still a bit youthfully closed but boasts subtle building sweetness, and complex tones of spices, flowers and soil. I find this easier to taste today than the Bonnes-Mares. Finishes suave, pure and long, with a peppery lift that really stimulates the taste buds."

Grenache: RP 92-94 pts "As for the Domaine du Pegau estate wines, the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee was tasted from multiple foudres, and appears to be better than the 2005 and 2004. The 2006 exhibits gamy, meaty, new saddle leather, kirsch liqueur, black currant, pepper, lavender, and spice notes. The wine is full-bodied, rich, deep, and long."
