Tempranillo: WA 98 pts "The 2005 Aalto PS is 100% Tinto Fino from vineyards over 60 years of age. It was aged for 32 months in 70% new French oak. Saturated in appearance, the wine offers up notes of pain grille, balsamic, crushed stone, floral notes, and wild black fruits. Exceptionally powerful, focused, and beautifully proportioned, this full-bodied wine is dense, rich, and structured for the long haul. Tempranillo: WA 98 pts "Nebro cuvee is produced only in exceptional vintages. Nebro is the name of the site of the estate’s oldest Tempranillo located 3 meters from Vega Sicilia. The 2005 Nebro is 100% Tempranillo from tiny yields of under 1 ton per acre. Malolactic occurred in barrel and the wine remained in oak for 18 months. The wine is a glass-coating opaque purple with a flamboyant bouquet of mocha, coffee, spice box, floral notes, and wild blackberry. More powerful than the Tinto, it will profit from 6-8 years of additional cellaring. Opulent, mouth-filling, and rich, the wine is a tour de force. It will be at its best from 2015 to 2035."
