A TASTE OF MEURSAULT IN CAMPANIA

Meet I Pentri, one of the hidden gems of Italian winemaking who are crafting compelling artisanal white wines in Campania, none better than their L’Amore della Api. Made from Fiano, L’Amore shows the gorgeous profile of a rich Meursault with the striking minerality synonymous with Italian reds and world-class white wines from Burgundy to the Mosel to Sauternes. No wonder L’Amore has been featured almost exclusively as a glass pour at Michelin star restaurants around the city for years.

I Pentri focuses on intense organic farming to produce a palate for their exceptional wines. Italian whites can be one dimensional, usually crisp and/or floral, while I Pentri’s L’Amore bears more of a resemblance to white Burgundy with structure, depth and balance. This is a weighty wine with rich creaminess and fresh fruit on the palate that leads to a subtle mineral finish. L’Amore begs to be paired with an oily fish or roast chicken. THESE WINES AGE BEAUTIFULLY. I have had this wine from multiple vintages and on multiple occasions recently and today we are ecstatic to off the current release 2018 L’Amore alongside a few extra bottles of the 2012 and 2014, which we have been socking away for a day like today.   Oh yes, and the price? INSANE for a bottle of this quality.
